Plan and direct operations of an assigned school age program to ensure the Caliday School Age Program mission, vision and values are upheld, and children are provided with a developmentally age appropriate learning environment; Provides support and direction to Assistant School Age Teacher.
Qualifications: This position requires comprehensive knowledge and understanding of behavioral and developmental stages of children; knowledge of OCC licensing requirements; ability to manage a program including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and problem solving skills; patience and flexibility. OPERATIONS
- Manages program, ensuring compliance with all OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
- Fosters open communication with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child’s program happenings.
- Ensures daily implementation of Caliday curriculum.
- Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques.
- Accurately completes all program paperwork, e.g., Injury Reports, Accident Reports, and Attendance Records.
- Maintains open and effective communication with the School Age Aides and School Aide Teachers.
- Maintains certification requirements regulated child care licensing, credentialing and accreditation.
- Assists Director in ensuring program meets State requirements.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding families, co-workers and self.
Qualifications
Physical Demands:
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds.
Education/Experience:
- MSDE-OCC School-Age Program Teacher qualified with 90-hour certification or college course equivalence.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a licensed child facility.
Job Specific Skills:
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Computer skills, educational software.
