Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
Description
The Controller of Celebree School plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and operational excellence of the organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position requires a strategic leader who can oversee the financial management of the company while supporting the mission
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly close process including analytical review of the operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting packages, including monthly and annual financial statements.
- Preparation of workpapers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and investment activities.
- Review and record journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity.
- Coordinate with external CPA and tax advisors to facilitate all tax filings and the annual financial audit.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audits.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
- Develop and implement systems to streamline financial processes, reduce waste, and optimize resources across the organization.
- Contribute to long-term financial planning, including expansion strategies, capital investments, and cost management initiatives.
- Leverage financial software and tools to improve data analysis, reporting accuracy, and decision-making processes.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to align financial objectives with business strategies.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting role, preferably within the childcare or multi-location service industries.
- Strong GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire & develop talent.
- Exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in financial reporting tools and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate financial data to non-financial colleagues.
- Experience with NetSuite is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel, is required.
